The Barer Institute, established in 2010 through the generosity of Stan and Alta Barer, focuses on the role of law in promoting improved outcomes in governance and multi-dimensional development in low and lower-middle income countries and countries in political transition. A goal of the Institute is to identify, mentor, and support emerging lawyer-leaders who will be at the vanguard of developing and implementing innovative solutions to pressing global challenges. The Institute’s broader mission includes promoting the study of law and its relationship to global development, evolving the curriculum and enabling related experiential learning.
