Description

CSDE’s staff of PhD-level research scientists provides expert scientific consultation in:

  • Data Management, Security and Reproducibility
  • Statistical Demography
  • Spatial Demography
  • Computational Demography
  • Survey Methodology.

Our staff can support you moving beyond standard methodology and data products, enabling you to leverage the most advanced computational, statistical, and demographic tools with unique, often sensitive, data. The breadth of expertise of our consulting team means that we can support all stages of the research process, enabling innovations in research design, data collection, secure storage, analysis, and reproducible dissemination.

CSDE can provide data analysis, as time permits, for short-term projects. In addition, we can supervise graduate students or research staff doing data analysis. Staff are also available to have some of their time bought out to perform longer-term data analysis on grant-funded projects.

Our team also hosts workshops on both core skills for population research (e.g. using GIS or relational databases) and novel methodology for pressing, open challenges (e.g. sampling hard-to-reach groups). Workshops are open to all UW faculty, staff, and students and the broader population science research community.
