Description

Instrumentation Services has engineering expertise with mechanical and electronic devices ranging from simple parts to complex, high-precision, electromechanical equipment. We have extensive design and manufacturing experience with many materials and processes, CNC machining, Printed Circuit Board design, welding, 3D printing, and most other manufacturing techniques. We have years of experience with biocompatible materials and building devices for human-animal interactions and monitoring in research settings. IS can modify or fabricate interfaces for commercial equipment to enhance their use in custom applications. We also provide short turn-around times for repairs of our own or commercial equipment so that customers avoid significant downtime in time-sensitive work. Some repairs can be done on-site and often within one day. IS staff maintain an up-to-date knowledge of available materials, manufacturing processes, and electronic components to facilitate problem-solving. Examples of devices IS has designed and built are: miniature manipulators, tight-tolerance titanium biomedical implants, multi-axis sensing and servo-controlled actuator systems, quad channel laser modulators, wireless network control systems, autonomous bio-sensor and electrical stimulator, touchscreen systems, 3D printed parts, microfluidic cooling systems, multi-channel power amplifier/drivers, high-volume test tube holder and loading assemblies. IS is available to consult on possible solutions to all mechanical and electronic needs.
