Description

CHORD focuses on investigator-initiated grant-funded research to apply patient and stakeholder engagement, research topic prioritization methodologies, qualitative and quantitative analyses, systematic reviews, comparative effectiveness research, translational research, implementation science, and dissemination to generate impactful research that moves clinical practice and health policy. CHORD has extensive experience conducting large-scale multi-site studies and forms the backbone of the Clinical Coordinating Center and Stakeholder Coordinating Center infrastructure that is leveraged in numerous ongoing studies and grant proposals.

Funders

The funded portfolio includes support from PCORI, NIH, DOD, BCAN, the Canary Foundation, and the Andy Hill CARE Fund. Ongoing funded projects include the PCORI-funded pragmatic trial CISTO (Comparison of Intravesical therapy and Surgery as Treatment Options for Bladder Cancer) and NCI R01 BEST CARE that supports long-term follow-up of the CISTO Study, the DOD and PCORI-funded BACPAC (Black and African-Descent Collaborative for Prostate Cancer Action), the foundation-funded PATROL (Prostate Cancer Screening for People At Genetic Risk for Aggressive Disease), the BCAN-funded Get Moving trial to evaluate prehabilitation in patients undergoing complex bladder cancer surgery, and the PCORI-funded STRIVE (Support for Transgender and Nonbinary Individuals Seeking Vaginoplasty).
