Description

The mission of the University of Washington Traumatic Brain Injury Model System is to promote the best health and recovery in persons with traumatic brain injury by using information gained from cutting edge research in clinical care.

The University of Washington TBI Model System is one of 16 government-funded centers in the United States that:

  • seeks to find out what happens to people who have a TBI, how they recover and what to expect on a long-term basis
  • examines various treatments that may lessen the problems caused by brain injury
  • provides state-of-the-art rehabilitation that meets the needs of people with TBI and their families
