Spotlight on partnership: Tech startup launched by mother and son team in UW’s CoMotion Labs
Working out of UW’s CoMotion Labs, Viata cofounders Ken Aragon, a UW Computer Science graduate, and Cecilia Aragon, a UW professor in the Human Centered Design and Engineering Department, are partnering with Seattle travel giant Expedia to integrate the team’s mapping visualization tool.

Spotlight on community partnerships: Protecting health in a changing climate
UW researchers are partnering with communities to save lives from extreme heat and climate-related disasters. “While we are making great progress in climate change mitigation, we still have unmanaged risk for population health driven by climate change..” said Jeremy Hess, professor and director of the Center for Health and the Global Environment (CHanGE) in the UW School of Public Health.
