Description
The Garvey Imaging Core at the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine (ISCRM) provides members and affiliated laboratories access to five fluorescence microscopes-two point-scanning confocal systems, a spinning disk confocal system, a widefield system, and a 2-photon system. (The 2-photon Olympus FV1000 system is also available to users who are not ISCRM members.) The confocal systems include a Nikon A1R point-scanning confocal, a Leica SP8 point-scanning confocal with spectral detectors, and a dual-camera Nikon/Yokogawa W1 Spinning Disk confocal. All of the confocal systems are inverted microscopes with motorized stages and can be used for live cell work either using environmental enclosures or a stage top incubator. The core also has two dedicated image analysis computer workstations with Imaris, Nikon and Leica image analysis software. The core director Dale Hailey provides users with training and advice on project development and image analysis.
