Description

The UW Environmental Proteomics Center (UWEPC) supports interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding biological activity in natural environments through mass spectrometry based proteomics. The center develops and applies analytical workflows capable of extracting and identifying proteins from diverse environmental matrices including seawater, sediments, soils, microbial filters, tissues, corals, and environmental microbiomes. These approaches enable researchers to characterize metabolic activity and functional processes occurring within complex ecosystems.
