The Washington Nanofabrication Facility (WNF) at the University of Washington (UW) is a premier open-access cleanroom supporting cutting-edge research, prototyping, and education in microelectronics, photonics, MEMS, and quantum technologies. Whether you’re an academic researcher, startup, or established company, WNF offers the tools and expertise needed to bring your ideas to life.

Our facility features over 100 tools for thin film deposition, lithography, etching, metrology, and packaging, supported by experienced staff who provide training, design consultation, and process development. WNF plays a central role in semiconductor workforce development through short courses, internships, and hands-on cleanroom instruction.

We welcome users from across disciplines and sectors, offering flexible access models and collaborative opportunities. From first-time users to experienced engineers, WNF is your gateway to scalable innovation in nanotechnology and semiconductor fabrication.
